Work on the new Atomic Mass Evaluation (AME) and the evaluation of basic nuclear physics properties (NUBASE) is ongoing as a collaborative effort between scientists from China, Europe, and the USA. This presentation will provide an update on the content, procedures, and policies used in the production of the recommended data. The emphasis will be given on the impact of evaluated data on understanding properties of nuclei far from the line of stability that are relevant for astrophysics applications.
