Studying φ(1020) meson in jet and medium production in p-Pb collisions with the ALICE detector at the LHC*

Current measurements show an enhancement of strange particles (e.g. an increase in the φ(1020)/π ratio ratio as a function of multiplicity) in p-Pb and high multiplicity pp collisions with respect to minimum bias pp collisions. To probe the origin of this increase, we separate the strange particles produced in hard processes (jets) from those produced in soft processes (bulk) by means of the measurement of two-particle angular correlations.

By correlating a high-pT track with identified strange hadrons, it is possible to measure both the in-jet and out-of-jet production of strange particles and to probe the system size dependencies by measuring strange particle yields for events characterized by different multiplicities. In addition, jet-medium interactions are studied by measuring differences in strangeness production between near-side and away-side jets.

In this talk I present current measurements of the φ/h ratio in jets as a function of multiplicity using jet-like hadron-φ(1020) angular correlations in p-Pb collisions at √s_NN = 5.02 TeV.
