The dynamics of a gas bubble inside a self-rewetting fluid filled in a channel with a linearly increasing temperature at the wall in the vertical direction is investigated via axisymmetric numerical simulations. The surface tension of self-rewetting fluids is known to exhibit a parabolic dependence on temperature with a well-defined minimum. The objectives of this study are to investigate the effect of Marangoni stresses on bubble rise in a self-rewetting fluid using a consistent model fully accounting for the tangential surface tension forces, with an emphasis to the dynamics with high Marangoni number. The effects of other dimensionless numbers, such as Reynolds, Bond and Froude numbers are also investigated.
