K Feshbach molecules*

Creating ultracold Feshbach molecules is a key step for realizing degenerate gases of strongly dipolar molecules, which can give access to novel many-body phases of matter and enable the quantum simulation of extended Hubbard models. Here, we report the creation of bosonic ²³Na⁴¹K Feshbach molecules using radio-frequency (RF) association. We conduct RF spectroscopy near an interspecies Feshbach resonance located at 73.4 G, identified in our previous work, to measure the molecular binding energies as a function of the magnetic field. We further characterize the creation efficiencies and lifetimes of the molecules under various experimental conditions. This sets the groundwork for a coherent two-photon transfer of the weakly bound Feshbach molecules into their absolute ground state. Further experimental progress and future outlook will be presented.
