Quantum Description of Three-Body Collisions for Shielded Dipolar Molecules*

Microwave shielding has led to rapid advancements in the field of dipolar quantum gases of molecules, with the realization of both degenerate Fermi gases and Bose Einstein condensate. We recently developed a semi-classical description for three-body recombination in shielded NaCs molecules [1]. However, a quantum mechanical description is necessary for temperature ranges that are comparable to the characteristic dipolar energy or for a lighter system like bosonic NaK, which has a more significant dipolar energy. Employing the adiabatic hyperspherical approach and using effective two-body potentials obtained from microwave shielding, we study the dynamics of three-body collisions under varying temperatures and microwave field parameters.
