N03.00001: Town Hall: Decadal Assessment and Outlook Report on Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Science The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine is conducting a decadal assessment on Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Science at the request of the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation. The final report will aim to help federal agencies, policymakers, and academic leadership understand the importance of AMO research and make informed decisions about AMO funding, workforce, and research directions. We invite members of the DAMOP community to share their thoughts about the future of AMO science with committee co-chairs Jun Ye (JILA) and Nergis Mavalvala (MIT) at our town hall. \\ \\ We hope to hear from members of the DAMOP community about new and emerging areas of AMO-related research, promising AMO investment opportunities, and challenges the AMO community may face over the coming decade.\\ \\ Learn more about the study and sign up for updates at nas.edu/amo.
