Opportunities for a Future US HEP Collider*

The US high energy physics (HEP) community is in the midst of its community planning process.  Several options have been proposed to deliver next-generation collider capbilities that can support key HEP research goals.  This talk will provide an overview of the collider technology landscape and the machines being considered for the next steps around the world.  In particular, it will discuss potential technology options that could be deployed domestically with an eye towards the timescales required and physics reach that each can provide.  Recent progress in accelerator concepts has expanded the possibilities for more compact lepton colliders that could be used for precision exploration of the Higgs boson as well as machines that could drive new discoveries at the multi-TeV scale.  Significant updates for electron-positron colliders, including the Cool Copper Collider (CCC) concept and advanced wakefield acceleration techniques, muon colliders and γ-γ options will be discussed in the context of the future US research program.
