H18.00001: Virtual Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon Wiki Edit-a-thon Wikipedia is the fifth most popular website in the world, with more than 32 million views a day. Despite this, according to the Wikimedia Foundation, as of 2020 fewer than 20% of its English-language biographies are about women. The statistics for historically marginalized groups are no better. During this virtual event, we’ll work together to create and improve Wikipedia pages that highlight the accomplishments of women and other historically marginalized groups in astrophysics. No prior Wikipedia editing experience is required. You must register to attend this event using the quick form linked here [https://april.aps.org/events/wiki-edit-a-thon]. |
