J12.00001: Searches for New Physics using $W\gamma$ production at the LHC Alfred Goshaw Measurements of high energy photons produced in association with W bosons are measured using $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV. The analyses use a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 4.6 $fb^{-1}$ collected by the ATLAS detector during 2011 LHC data taking. Events are selected using leptonic decays of the W boson (e$\nu$,$\mu$$\nu$) with the requirement of an associated isolated photon with transverse energy greater than 15 GeV. The data are used to test the electroweak sector of the Standard Model and search for possible evidence for new phenomena. The measurements are used to probe anomalous WW$\gamma$ triple gauge-boson couplings and to search for the production of new resonances decaying to W$\gamma$ final states. [Preview Abstract] |

J12.00002: Measurement of the Z(ll)Gamma and Z(nunu)Gamma cross section and searching for Anomalous Triple Gauge Coupling Benjamin Auerbach The analysis used a data sample from 4.6 fb$^{-1}$ of 7TeV data collected by the ATLAS detector during 2011. Events are selected using the leptonic and neutrino decays of the Z bosons with the requirement of an isolated photon. The data are used to test the electroweak sector of the Standard Model and search for possible new phenomena, such as anomalous, ZZgamma and Zgammagamma triple gauge-boson couplings. J12.00003: Measurement of the $Z/\gamma^* \, Z/\gamma^*$ Production Cross Section using 10.4 fb$^{-1}$ of $p\bar{p}$ Collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$~TeV Lei Feng We present a study of the $Z/\gamma^* \thinspace Z/\gamma^*$ to four-lepton channel for $Z/\gamma^*$ masses greater than 30 GeV using the D0 detector in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV with data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb$^{-1}$. We measure the $Z/\gamma^* \thinspace Z/\gamma^*$ cross section and search for the Higgs boson arising from the $H \rightarrow ZZ$ and $HZ \rightarrow WWZ$ processes in 4-lepton final states using the $eeee$, $ee\mu\mu$, and $\mu\mu\mu\mu$ channels. J12.00004: WW and WZ resonance search in the fully leptonic channel Lulu Liu Heavy particles that can decay to gauge boson pairs are predicted in many scenarios of physics beyond the SM, including the extended gauge model, extra dimensions, and technicolor models. Some of these models also offer an alternative to the SM mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking. The observation of an excess of diboson events would not only manifest new physics, but could also yield an insight into the origin of mass. In this talk, we will present a search for resonant $WW$ production in the $\ell\nu\ell'\nu'$ final state and resonant $WZ$ production in the $\ell\nu\ell'\ell'$ final state ($\ell,\ell'=e,\mu$). The data collected in 2011 and 2012 by the ATLAS detector are used for these two searches. We use Randall-Sundrum graviton and Kaluza-Klein graviton models to interpret the results in the $WW$ search, and use extended gauge model $W'$ and low-scale technicolor model $\rho_{\rm T}$ to interpret the results in the $WZ$ search. J12.00005: Photon $+$Z production in heavy flavor decay channel at CDF Timothy Harrington-Taber This analysis reports on one case of diboson production, as observed at the Fermilab Tevatron collider, the production of a photon and a Z boson from proton-antiproton collisions, considering only the case where the Z boson decays into a pair of b quarks, using the entire CDF Run II dataset, with an integrated luminosity of 9.1 fb$^{-1}$. This analysis considers events containing a central isolated photon and two central b-tagged jets. The cross-section for this process is measured to be consistent with the Standard Model prediction, but the presence of significant background yields relatively large statistical errors. J12.00006: Measurement of the WW$+$WZ Production Cross Section in Proton-Proton Collisions at sqrt(s) $=$ 7 TeV with the ATLAS Detector in the semileptonic decay channel David Puldon A measurement of the WW/WZ production cross section is presented in pp collisions at $\surd $s $=$ 7 TeV. The cross section is measured in the WW/WZ$\to $lvqqbar decay channel using data gathered by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider during 2011 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 $\pm $ 0.2 fb$^{\mathrm{-1}}$. This cross section measurement will be compared to the Standard Model expectation value of 63.4 $\pm $ 2.6 pb and the anomalous triple gauge coupling limits for gammaWW and WWZ will also be addressed. J12.00007: Measurement of the ZZ production cross section and limits on anomalous neutral triple gauge couplings in 20.7 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at $\surd $s $=$ 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector Lailin Xu The measurement of the Standard Model ZZ diboson production(double resonance) cross section with proton-proton interactions at $\surd $s $=$ 8 TeV with the ATLAS experiment will be reported. The measurement is based on events with one Z boson decaying into di-electron or di-muon, and the other either decaying similarly (4 charged lepton final state), or to neutrino pair (two charged lepton plus two neutrino final state). Differential cross sections and kinematic distributions will be presented. Limits on anomalous triple-gauge boson couplings are derived from data compared to theory with much higher sensitivity compared to those from any previous experiments. [Preview Abstract] |

J12.00008: Semi-leptonic ZZ/ZW Diboson Final State Measurement and Search at 8 TeV with ATLAS Samuel Meehan Using data collected at a center of mass energy of 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector, an investigation has been made of the semi-leptonic decay channel involving $ZZ$ and $ZW$ boson pairs in which there is a leptonic $Z \rightarrow \ell^{+} \ell^{-}$ decay in the final state. Processes involving pairs of bosons in the final state play an important role in a wide range of measurements and searches at the LHC. They allow for precision tests of the electroweak sector of the standard model, provide benchmark measurements necessary for Higgs search channels, and allow for new physics searches including Technicolor, supersymmetry, and models with extra dimensions. Furthermore, the semi-leptonic final state, in which there is a high-$p_{T}$ $W$ or $Z$ decaying hadronically, offers a valuable test of jet substructure techniques that are becoming increasingly important to searches at the LHC. This talk presents a search for the standard model semi-leptonic $ZZ$/$ZW$ diboson signal, as well as a complimentary search for high mass diboson resonances interpreted in terms of bulk Randall-Sundrum Gravitons decaying to pairs of $Z$ bosons and using techniques coming from jet substructure.
