G2.00002: Recent Results from Indirect Searches for Dark Matter Invited Speaker: Alex Drlica-Wagner The detection of energetic gamma rays, cosmic rays, or neutrinos produced by the annihilation or decay of dark matter particles is a promising avenue for the identification of dark matter. This indirect approach provides the exciting ability to simultaneously probe the microscopic character and the macroscopic distribution of dark matter. I will review recent results in indirect detection from ground-based and space-based experiments with a focus on current constraints, tentative signals, and associated uncertainties. G2.00003: Dark Matter: Theory and Synthesis Invited Speaker: Jason Kumar We dicuss the connection between theoretical models for dark matter and the variety of search strategies being employed today. The correct interpretation of direct, indirect, and collider search data crucially depends on assumptions about the nature of dark matter and its interactions. We highlight the manner in which data from several experiments can be used to determine the nature and properties of dark matter. [Preview Abstract] |
