W3C.00001: Promoting Teaching as a Career Invited Speaker: Sean Bentley This interactive workshop will explore strategies for promoting teaching as a career. Rather than an approach that only promotes teaching, which could be tuned out by those who do not already feel they are interested in such a career, we will look at presenting teaching as an attractive option within a larger program on careers in physics. A program incorporating elements from the AIP Career Pathways Project (CPP) along with panels of physics alumni working in a variety of fields, including teaching, will be explored. The workshop will focus specifically on implementing elements from the Careers Toolbox, a CPP product, supplementing it in such a way as to highlight the option of a career in teaching.
