So far, the effect of translational and rotational inertia in the field of active matter has been almost neglected. Here, we analytically find the effect of inertia on the mean-square displacement and mean-square speed of a system of inertial active Brownian particles subject to a weak and a strong harmonic trap. To validate our analytical results, Brownian dynamics simulations are also performed showing an excellent agreement between our theoretical predictions and the numerical results.
