R25.00001: Observation of Dynamical Fermionization in 1D Bose gases Invited Speaker: David Weiss I will present an experimental observation of the dynamical fermionization of 1D Bose gases in the strong coupling limit. As the gases expand in 1D, their initially bosonic momentum distributions progressively transforms into the momentum distributions of a Fermi gas with the same initial density distribution. In this way, we directly the observe the underlying conserved quantities in the 1D Bose gases (the rapidities). We compare the experiment to theoretical calculations. We also observe the oscillation of out-of-equilibrium trapped 1D Bose gases between Bose-like and Fermi-like momentum distributions. |

R25.00002: Emergent eigenstate solution to quantum dynamics Invited Speaker: Lev Vidmar One of the main theoretical goals in studies of far-from-equilibrium dynamics of quantum many-body systems is to design accurate tools to predict the time evolution of physical observables. However, another important goal, well-aligned with the recent experimental efforts, is to pave way towards efficient manipulation of quantum many-body states. It is therefore highly desirable to make steps beyond the "predictable" quantum dynamics and to establish novel tools for "controllable" quantum dynamics. I am going to show that the emergent eigenstate solution to quantum dynamics [1] provides an important step in this direction. |

R25.00003: Probing Quantum Many-Body Dynamics - From Many-Body Localization to Rydberg Gases Invited Speaker: Immanuel Bloch Probing the non-equilibrium dynamics of a many-body system can give new insight into dynamical phases of matter or for realizing highly entangled multi particle states that can be seen as a resource for quantum simulations and computations. In my talk I will give two example, focusing first on the dynamical evolution of a 2D strongly bosonic quantum gas exposed to tailored disorder potentials and coupled to a variable size bath. We explore new evidence for a Many-Body Localized (MBL) phase of matter in this system and explore its stability when coupled to the finite size bath. Furtheremore we probe the transition point to the MBL phase for different initial states, exploring an intriguing length-scale dependence of the transition. |

R25.00004: Generalized Gibbs Ensembles and Generalized Hydrodynamics in quantum many-body systems. Invited Speaker: Jacopo De Nardis In this talk we give a short review of the the recent theoretical progresses to explicitly construct non-thermal steady states in quantum systems as interacting bosons and spin chains. We show how the presence of multiple effective temperatures can be experimentally observed by means of a generalized fluctuation-dissipation theorem. Moreover we present an hydrodynamic description of such non-thermal steady states that allows to construct non-equilibrium steady states with persistent energy or spin currents and to predict time scales for local thermalization of inhomogeneous systems. |
