using Time- and Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy

In time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (trARPES), direct measurements can be made of both the electronic structure dynamics, and the dynamics of interaction between electronic and structural degrees of freedom in a material. Here we discuss trARPES experiments on the semimetallic transition metal dichalcogenide Mo_1-xW_xTe₂ and examine the dynamics of the topological surface states in these materials. The relationship between the dynamics of these electronic features and the material's structural features will be discussed.
