We invite you to attend the 2009 March Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. Pittsburgh is a city in revival and has a beautiful, new, “green” convention center. The city has many fine restaurants and shops within walking distance of most of the hotels. The headquarters hotel is the Westin Convention Center Hotel, immediately adjacent to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Pre-registration will be available in early October 2008 and will end on February 6, 2009.
Scientific Program
The scientific sessions for the 2009 March Meeting will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. An outstanding scientific program will be presented consisting of more than 90 invited sessions and 550 contributed sessions at which approximately 7,000 papers will be presented.
In addition, tutorials and workshops will be offered. A larger and enhanced exhibit show will round out the program during which attendees can visit vendors who will be displaying the latest products, instruments and equipment, and computer software, as well as scientific publications related to the research and application of physics.
Don't Forget
- Submit abstracts early to ensure placement in the program, and proof your abstract before submission.
- Register early to save money. Early registration (lowest fees) deadline is January 14. After this date fees are higher.
- You can register on-line (both members and non-members) and receive immediate confirmation. If you are speaking in the morning session, do not wait to register until that morning.
- Don't delay in making your hotel reservation to ensure you get the hotel of your choice at the convention rate-cut off date is February 11.
- Save money, share a room. Use the APS Roommate Bulletin Board to find a roommate. (BBS available October 2007.)
- The deadline for requesting space for satellite meetings is January 19.
