An absolute calibration has been performed on each of the seven chords of the $H\alpha$ diagnostic [Z. Wang, G.A. Wurden, C.W Barnes, et al., Rev. Sci. Instrum. 72, 1059 (2001)] at SSPX. Simple models are used to estimate the total power lost to $H\alpha$ radiation throughout experimental shots. Using these models, high energy shots (Te $>$ 500 eV) are compared to low energy shots.
