1B.00001: Physics Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon Have you ever visited a Physics page on Wikipedia and been frustrated by potentially misleading or incorrect information? Ever been annoyed by one of those dreaded red links - a page that should exist but doesn't? If you’re nodding your head and questioning the entire Wiki multiverse right now, you may be interested in helping us fix this. The Physics Wikipedia Edit-a-thon will be a three-hour editing session aimed at improving the quality of existing physics pages and creating new ones that should exist. We're looking for scientists who like physics, like free stuff and want to make Wikipedia a more reliable source of information. Wikipedia is the first place people go to learn in 2015, so we will help to make sure they are learning the correct physics information. Food and beverage (along with a bag of assorted goodies) will be provided to all attendees. Just bring your own laptop - it may also be helpful to create a Wikipedia account prior to the meeting. For more information, email jtracey@simonsfoundation.org. [Preview Abstract] |
