A9.00001: $D^0$ mixing at the BaBar experiment: recent results Giulia Casarosa I will discuss recent experimental results for $D^0-\bar{D^0}$ mixing measurement by the {\sl B{\scriptsize A}B{\scriptsize AR}} experiment. In particular I will present the time dependent Dalitz plot analysis of $D^0 \rightarrow K_S h^+ h^-$ ($h=\pi,K$) which allows a direct measurement of $x$ and $y$, the mixing parameters that describe, respectively, mass and width differences between the mass eigenstates of the neutral $D$ system. The $D^0$ candidates are selected from $D^{*+} \rightarrow D^0 \pi^+$ and $D^{*-} \rightarrow \bar{D^0} \pi^-$ decays and their flavors are tagged at production by the charge of the pion from $D^*$ decay. The events are produced from electron-positron annihilations at a center-of- mass energy of about 10.58~GeV. We use a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 468.5 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$ recorded by the {\sl B{\scriptsize A}B{\scriptsize AR}} experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy $B$ factory at SLAC. A9.00002: Exclusive Semileptonic $D_s$ Decays Jonathan Insler We have studied semileptonic decay of the $D_s$ meson using the full CLEO-c data set of 586~pb$^{-1}$ integrated luminosity collected near the $D_s\bar{D}^*_s$ peak at energy $E_{cm} = 4170$~MeV in $e^+e^-$ collisions. We find the semileptonic decays by first tagging the hadronic decay of one $D_s$ and then finding the photon from the $\bar{D}_s^*$ decay. We infer the missing neutrino momentum using all reconstructed particles in the event. We present several measured semileptonic branching fractions of the $D_s$. [Preview Abstract] |

A9.00003: Search for $D^0 \rightarrow \ell^+ \ell^-$ Elizabeth Mullin We present the results of a search for the rare flavor changing neutral current decay $D^0 \rightarrow \ell^+ \ell^-$ using the full dataset of the {\sl B{\scriptsize A}B{\scriptsize AR}} experiment, which corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately $530~{\rm fb}^{-1}$. We will show results for the $\mu^+ \mu^-$, $e^+ e^-$, and $e^\pm \mu^\pm$ final states. [Preview Abstract] |

A9.00004: Cabibbo-suppressed and Rare Semileptonic $D^0$ and $D^+$ Decays Junyan Ge Using data collected at the $\psi(3770)$ resonance with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we present results of a study of semileptonic decays of the $D$ mesons, including $D^0 \to \rho^- e^+ \nu_e$, $D^+ \to \rho^0 e^+ \nu_e$, $D^+ \to \omega e^+ \nu_e$, $D^+ \to \eta e^+ \nu_e$, $D^+ \to \eta^\prime e^+ \nu_e$, and searches for $D^+ \to \phi e^+ \nu_e$. A9.00005: Search for $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}$ Decays Souvik Das We search for the decay $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}$ in data collected with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR) operating at a center of mass energy of $\sqrt{s}$= 4170 MeV. At this energy, $D_{s}^{\pm} D_{s}^{*\mp}$ pairs are produced with a cross section of 1 nb. In this search we reconstruct the $D_{s}^{*+}$ decay using several exclusive hadronic $D_{s}^{+}$ final states. The $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}$ branching fraction is expected to be about 1\%, which is comparable to the rate of the background from conversions in the detector of the photons from the dominant $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} \gamma$ channel. The selection criteria used to distinguish our signal from this external conversion background motives an accurate reconstruction of the soft electron-positron pair in the final state, which is a challenging aspect of our analysis. A9.00006: Branching Fractions of $\chi_{cJ}\to p\bar{p}X$ Samuel Adams Using a approximately 25 million decays of the $\psi(2S)$ collected with the CLEO-c detector, we present a measurement of the branching fractions of $\chi_{cJ}\to p\bar{p} X$, where $J=0,1,$ or 2 and $X=\pi^0, \eta,$ or $\omega$. The branching fractions measured are useful experimental inputs to theoretical calculations of the cross section for production of charmonium in association with a meson in $p\bar{p}$ interactions. In the future, such cross sections will be of interest to the PANDA Collaboration. [Preview Abstract] |
