J11.00001: First measurement of $\sigma(p\bar{p}) \cdot Br(Z \rightarrow \tau^+$ Yuri Gershtein We present the first measurement of the cross-section for Z production in its decay mode to tau leptons in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV with D{\O} detector. With the sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 226 pb$^{-1}$ we obtain $\sigma \cdot Br(Z \rightarrow \tau^+ \tau^-) = 237 \pm 15 (stat) \pm 18 (sys) \pm 15 (lum)$ pb, in agreement with the standard model prediction. Gained understanding of the $\tau^+\tau^-$ final state at hadronic collider opens up new possibilities for searches for new physics phenomena. [Preview Abstract] |

J11.00002: Measurement of $\sigma(Z(\rightarrow\tau\tau)+b)/\sigma(Z(\rightarrow\mu\mu)+b)$ ratio Yury Pogorelov We measure the ratio of cross sections $Z(\rightarrow\tau\tau)+b$ to $Z(\rightarrow\mu\mu)+b$ in $p\bar{p}$ collision at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV using the D\Odetector. The measurement was performed using a data sample in which one of the taus decays hadronically and the other one to muon. Opposite sign events are used to estimate the backgrounds. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 226 $pb^-1$ collected at D\O\ between September 2002 and April 2004. [Preview Abstract] |

J11.00003: Measurement of the $W$ and $Z$ Production Crosss Section with the D\O\ detector Gavin Hesketh We present a measurement of the $W$ and $Z$ production cross sections in $p\bar p$ collisions at 1.96 TeV using the D\O\ detector. These measurements are a test of NNLO QCD predictions and are sensitive to the proton structure. A measurement of the $W$ width can be extracted from the cross section ratio. [Preview Abstract] |

J11.00004: Z\rightarrow b\bar{b}$ at D{\O} Per Jonsson We report on the search for $Z$ decaying to $b\bar{b}$ by the D\Oexperiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We have searched for evidence of the $Z$ resonance in the $b$-tagged di-jet mass spectrum using the RunII data. The observation of this process is important in understanding the detector response to $b$-quark jets. Measurement of this process is, therefore, relevant to the search for Higgs bosons in the $b \bar{b}$ channel and the measurement of the top quark mass. [Preview Abstract] |

J11.00005: Measurement of $d\sigma/dy$ for $Z/\gamma^{*}$ decaying to $e^{+}e^{-}$ using the D\O\ detector Ming Yan We present a preliminary result of the first Run II measurement of Z/$\gamma^{*}$ decaying to $e^{+}e^{-}$ inclusive differential cross section as a function of boson rapidity. The data, which correspond to an integrated luminosity of 0.3 $fb^{-1}$, were collected with the D\O\ detector at the Tevatron $p\bar{p}$ collider. At the Run II energy of $\sqrt{s}$= 1.96 TeV, Z bosons are produced with rapidities out to $\pm$ 3. The cross section is measured in a mass range between 71 to 111 GeV for the allowed kinematic range. [Preview Abstract] |

J11.00006: Search for $ZZ/ZW\to l^{+}l^{-}+q\bar{q}(')$ at the Tevatron Jonathan Efron, Richard Hughes, Ben Kilminster, Brian Winer We present a search for diboson production at CDF with the final state of two leptons and two hadronic jets. This selection is sensitive to both $ZZ\to l^{+}l^{-} + q\bar{q}$ and $ZW\to l^{+}l^{-} + q\bar{q}'$. The main background is $Z$ bosons produced in association with extra jets. The signal can be discriminated from the background by its dijet mass resonance. While the sensitivity for this final state is small, it is an important step in searching for Higgs boson production in association with a $Z$ boson, which has a similar topology but a much smaller cross-section. J11.00007: $W$ and $Z$ Measurements at the Tevatron Using the CDF Intermediate Muon Detector Dan Cyr We present measurements of W and Z production using muons identified at high rapidity with the CDF intermediate muon detector. Using a dedicated trigger, we select W and Z events and measure the detector acceptances and efficiencies necessary to determine the production cross sections. [Preview Abstract] |
